PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce loss caused by overhead of MIMO communication. SOLUTION: In the radio communication system comprising a transmission station 1 for transmitting a plurality of signal series on the same frequency channel while multiplexing on the space, and a reception station 2 for receiving the transmitted radio signal and performing reception processing by separating the radio signal into a plurality of signal series and performing both MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication and SISO (Single Input Single Output) communication, the transmission station 1 selects any one of MIMO communication or SISO communication depending on the format of data to be transmitted and transmits a radio signal.
