PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video telephone transfer method and a video telephone repeater which interconnect video telephone communication, the video telephone system and video telephone repeater being capable of easy management with stable quality. SOLUTION: The video telephone system has a first terminal device and a second terminal device, each of which has a video telephone function and a repeater which is enabled to communicate with the first terminal device and the second terminal device through a telephone line. The repeater performs relaying between the first terminal device and the second terminal device after establishing the communication between the first terminal device and the second terminal device, and performs relaying between the first terminal and the second terminal device after the first terminal device and the second terminal device complete termination. Further, the repeater calls the second terminal device when the first terminal device terminates and then performs relaying between the first terminal device and the second terminal device after establishing communication with the second terminal device.
