PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently improve sensitivity for a light up to a long wavelength. SOLUTION: A solid-state imaging apparatus including a photoelectric conversion element and a modulating section formed so as to be adjacent to the photoelectric conversion element is provided with a substrate having a projection portion having a surface formed on a position higher than that of other portions in the photoelectric conversion element forming region, the photoelectric conversion element formed on the lower part of the projection portion, and the modulating section formed so as to be adjacent to the photoelectric conversion element.
