PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration in signal quality of a reproduction signal at the time of data reproduction. SOLUTION: In a signal processing apparatus 100, a specific evaluation signal is detected from the reproduction signal generated by reflection light of a laser beam which irradiates an optical disk, a reference signal to be compared is generated, and a changing process is carried out for changing the irradiating condition by slightly changing a parameter to control the irradiating condition, a difference between the characteristic value of the evaluation signal and the characteristic value of the aforementioned reference signal is calculated, as regards the evaluation signal detected under each irradiating condition before/after the changing process, a difference between the calculated differences is calculated, when the level of this difference exceeds the threshold in comparison between the level of the difference and the threshold, a correction process is carried out for correcting the parameter according to a predetermined calculation formula, and this correction process is repeated till the level of the difference between the differences calculated under each irradiation condition before/after the changing process about the parameter after the correction, becomes below the threshold.
