PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform loading of a disk to a slot loading type disk unit in an optimum state. SOLUTION: The disk unit into which the disk is directly inserted in the front face of chassis coating 23 is equipped with a disk insertion detection means 24 which detects that disk is inserted in inside of the disk unit, a disk loading means 26 which moves a disk to inside of the disk unit after the detection of the disk insertion and load it rotatably to a spindle motor 31, and a loading completion detection means 27 which detects the status that the disk loading means 26 has completed the loading action of the disk.
