PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for predicting a driver's future state, the apparatus capable of predicting a degree of driver's encounter with an unexpected state in the future according to a running state, correcting a driver's perception gap to press for improvement of its driving, and facilitating maintenance and improvement in safety consciousness for a driver keeping safety driving in mind. SOLUTION: Driving information detected by a driving information detecting means 10 is stored in a driving information storing means 20, the detecting means 10 including a vehicle state detecting means 11, a driver-state detecting means 12 and a running environment detecting means 13. Based on these data, a means for predicting driver's characteristics for each driving state 30 determines driver's characteristics in a plurality of driving states. Based on the driver's characteristics and a predetermined degree of predicting an unexpected state, a means for predicting driver's encounter with unexpected state 50 predicts the degree of driver's encounter with an unexpected state in the future.
