摘要 Proposed is a mechanism for floating and supporting a rotor or the like by utilizing the superconductivity. The mechanism is effective for supporting a large-sized rotor. The rotor (2) is supported to rotate on the center axis (or the coil center axis) (1a) of a superconductive coil (1) and is so constituted as to slide in the direction of the coil center axis (1a). On the other hand, the superconductive coil (1), as arranged in a low-temperature container (3), is constituted in a regular annular shape, and the ferromagnetic member (2a) of the rotor (2) is so arranged as is enclosed by that annular superconductive coil (1). More specifically, the ferromagnetic member (2a) of the rotor (2) is arranged within such a predetermined range that the magnetic attraction may become the higher as it goes the farther in the direction of the coil center axis (1a) from the center plane (or the coil center plane) (S1) of the superconductive coil (1), so that the rotor (2) is supported in the direction of the shaft (2b) (of the rotor (2)).
