A machine for grinding a railway track, e.g. for removing weld seams and for restoring track profiles, has a support frame (3) mounted on four flanged wheels (4) and carrying a grinding system. This comprises a motor driven grinding wheel on an adjustable tilt mounting. The adjusting system has a coarse and fine adjustment with suitable overlap, controlled by a hand wheel.
