#CMT# #/CMT# The lock for an automobile motor compartment lid, at the front of the vehicle, has a normal manual opening and closing action and an additional lifter (1) triggered by a sensor on detection of a collision with a pedestrian or cyclist. The lifter is a telescopic piston unit (7,8) in a cylinder (4-6) activated by a gas generator (15).
