#CMT# #/CMT# The arrangement has a switch (12), driver stage (15), and power switch (Tr1) connected to a digital control loop, so that switching-on of a fluorescent lamp takes place at a transformer over a low resistance capacitor (8). A mono-stable trigger circuit (11) locks the switch (12) for the rest of the clock cycle, after an output of a resistor is switched from a positive potential to null potential. #CMT# : #/CMT# The switch (Tr1) is locked and the current flow to the lamp is interrupted, due to reduction of the effective voltage, so that the power value at the lamp is held constant.
