PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new modified phenoxy resin having a film-forming capacity, a high glass transition temperature and a low molten viscosity, a method for producing the same and a composition of the same. SOLUTION: This polymer having the aromatic ether sulfone skeleton is expressed by general formula (1) [wherein, (m), (l) are each a≥0 number; and A, B are each independently a divalent aromatic ring such as benzene ring, naphthalene ring, biphenyl ring or the like, which may have a substituent]. The polymer is obtained by reacting an aromatic ether sulfone diol precursor obtained from bisphenol A and 4,4'-dichlorodiphenyl sulfone, with a bisphenol type epoxy resin.
