PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high-purity tetraazaporphyrin compound in a good yield. SOLUTION: The method for producing a tetraazaporphyrin compound represented by the structural formula of a compound (7) comprises previously reacting a compound such as vanadium trichloride with ammonia and reacting the resulting reaction product with a dicyanoethylene derivative.
