PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a plate type workpiece 10 in a carrying process of the workpiece 10 in a walking beam type carrying device for carrying the workpiece 10. SOLUTION: Workpiece receiving parts 4 are provided at a prescribed interval in the carrying direction for workpieces 10 on a movable beam 3, where receiving surface of the workpiece receiving part 4 is formed with protrusions and recesses. In a case where foreign matter falls onto the workpiece receiving part 4, the foreign matter may highly possibly go into the recessed part 4b, and the foreign matter is less likely to be caught between a protruded part 4a of the workpiece receiving part 4 and the workpiece 10 when the workpiece 10 abuts on the workpiece receiving part 4.
