PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accessory which has a substrate composed mainly of a plastic material and is excellent in transparency to electromagnetic waves (electric waves and light), and excellent in esthetic appearance; and to provide a clock equipped with the accessory. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the accessory 1 comprises: a step of forming an oxide coat 3 which is composed mainly of a metal oxide on the substrate 2 composed mainly of the plastic material; a step of forming a metal coat (reflective film) 4 which is composed mainly of a metal material on the oxide coat 3; a step of forming a mask 9 which has an aperture section 91 formed by using a prescribed pattern on the surface of the metal coat 4; a step of removing a portion of the metal coat 4 and forming an aperture section 6 by using an etching process; a step of removing the mask 9; and a step of forming a coat layer 5 on the metal coat 4.
