PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thunder surge protector which can protect a protected apparatus also from continuous thunder surge, without costing much, thanks to its simple structure and downsizability. SOLUTION: This thunder surge protector includes a protection circuit part 16 which has a surge protection element and a protection switch S1 for performing an action such as switching it off by thunder surge, a controller 18 which is connected to the protection circuit part 16, and a supply changeover switch S3 which is provided in the controller 18 and to which power wiring R is connected and which interlocks with the protection switch S1 by inverting action or the like. It has an alarm display output device 22 which issues an at least sonic alarm by the operation of the OFF switching of the protection switch S1 by thunder surge. The protection circuit part 16 and the controller 18 constitute protection units 14 and 15. For the protection units 14 and 15, a plurality of pieces are connected in series, and power input terminals T1 and T2 for the protection circuit part 16 of the other protection unit 15 are connected to the supply switchover switch S3 of the controller 18 of the protection unit 14 connected to the power wiring R.
