PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent such a situation as the ringing tone from a hand set is heard after a telephone is hooked off by call termination while utilizing a conventional subscriber line of central office. SOLUTION: The telephone comprises a means 103 for detecting off-hook of a hand set for call termination, a hook switch control section 105 for switching a hook switch from off state to on state when off-hook of the hand set is detected at the off-hook detecting section, and means 107 and 109 for connecting a speaker with a line a predetermined time after off-hook of the hand set is detected at the off-hook detecting section.
