PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data file management apparatus for avoiding files shared among a plurality of users are deleted without prior notice and capable of promoting utilization of the files by file sharing parties. SOLUTION: The data file management apparatus connected to a network and provided with a storage function of storing data files in a way of being shared by a plurality of users registers destination information of the file sharing parties whose sharing of the data files is admitted while associated with the data files in the case of storing the data files, transmits a message for confirming the consent of each file sharing party as to deletion of the data files to registered destination information in response to a request of file deletion, does not execute the deletion of the data files when a message denoting disapproval of the deletion of the data files is returned from the file sharing parties within a prescribed period from the message transmission, and executes deletion of the data files in the other cases.
