PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of coating a piston capable of coating only necessary section and forming high quality coating layer with improved yield of material by using coating material having ordinary viscosity of 500-1000 mPa s, and the piston coated by the method. SOLUTION: In the method of coating the piston, lubricating coating is formed by applying coating material containing fluorine resin and binder on an outer circumference of a piston head part of a compressor by using a film coating means and the piston is applied with the coating.
