A projector is provided to absorb and shield light unnecessary for image reproduction by an aperture unit made of SUS or copper(Cu) and of which a surface is treated with a black matted. In a projector, a light optical system(130) illuminates a light emitted from a light resource(103). An image reproduction unit(110) reproduces a light necessary for producing an image from the light emitted from the lighting optical system. An aperture unit(151) is mounted on the image reproduction unit, wherein an opening is formed on a central part of the aperture unit and a light shield unit is formed around the opening. And, a transmission unit(170) transmits the reproduced image through the image reproduction unit.
