PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge path stabilizer and a discharge path stabilization method simply and surely stabilizing a discharge path. SOLUTION: The discharge path stabilizer is provided with a camera 8 for measuring a position and a size of optical fiber 2a, 2b, a control part for determining whether the optical fiber 2a, 2b are within a discharge range of a discharge electrode 6, and if so, comparing the sizes and a given value, and a driving part 5 for moving a part having sizes satisfying the given values of the optical fiber 2a, 2b within the discharge range when the optical fiber 2a, 2b are outside the discharge range or the sizes of the optical fiber 2a, 2b within the discharge range do not satisfy the given values.
