PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator provided with a cooling mode capable of preventing insufficient cooling and overcooling of a cooking item. SOLUTION: The cooling mode repeats quick cooling operation wherein a temperature changing chamber discharge damper 13 and an opening 20b of a temperature changing chamber return damper 20 are constantly opened, and a temperature changing chamber blower 14 is driven to cool a temperature changing chamber 3, and temperature detecting operation wherein a cold air passage between a cooler 17 and a refrigeration chamber 2 or the like is opened, the refrigeration chamber 2 or the like is cooled, the temperature changing chamber discharge damper 13 and the opening 20b of the temperature changing chamber return damper 20 are closed, the temperature changing chamber blower 14 is stopped, and a temperature in the temperature changing chamber 3 is detected by temperature sensors 24 and 16 after standing by for a predetermined period. The cooling mode is finished when detected temperatures of the temperature sensors 24 and 16 during the temperature detecting operation become smaller than a predetermined temperature difference.
