Plates 1 and 2 are engageable with each other to form gate frame clamping parts 3a, 3b and hinge pin receiving parts 4a, 4b. One of the plate to plate connections is a pivot connection, typically formed by an interlocking slotted connection. At least one, and typically two, of the other connections is such that the plates are able to be held firmly together, typically via bolts 6 and 9.
