PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device which can reduce a rolling jam by raising the discreteness of a recording medium from a print drum as much as possible without changing the position of the recording medium and which can also attain energy saving. SOLUTION: When a printing drum 101 revolves and a paper feeding start sensor 21 is shielded by a shielding plate 20, a printing sheet 62 is conveyed. If the paper feeding start sensor 21 turns on, an encoder provided in a motor which rotatably drives the printing drum 101 starts counting of the pulse number, the pulse number until the printing sheet 62 is removed by a separation nail 114 and its tip is detected by a paper discharge sensor 22 is counted. This manages the separation state (behavior) of the printing sheet 62. According to it, the air volume of an air blast means 23 is made adjustable. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
