PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat accumulation correction method for accurately correcting heat accumulation of a thermal head. SOLUTION: Heat generation data in which the heat accumulation is corrected, is obtained by using basic heat generation data of the M-th line to be printed and first to fifth heat accumulation correction data obtained by respectively operating coefficients k2k3, k4k5, k6k7, k8k9, k10k11 to first to fifth heat accumulation data E1, E2, E3, E4, E5 indicative of a condition of heat accumulation of each heat accumulation layer. Heating elements are driven according to the heat generation data. The coefficient which is used when the fifth heat accumulation correction data is obtained, is determined by considering a quantity of heat escaping in the atmospheric air in the heat accumulated in the N-th heat accumulation layer.
