PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a good image while eliminating a gap of writing start position in the main scanning direction for each light emitting element even when each light emitting element constituting a laser light emitting element group is not arranged at a right angle to the main scanning direction. SOLUTION: A write control means controls writing start position to be located at an identical position in the main scanning direction for respective light emitting elements regardless of the gap of each light emitting element in the main scanning direction by extending/contracting the clock period for one or a plurality of clocks of respective periods constituting a write clock for each light emitting element constituting a laser light emitting element group depending on the gap of each light emitting element in the main scanning direction.
