PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tapered steel tube manufacturing method capable of realizing the consistent quality of a tapered steel tube to be worked, and enhancing the working speed. SOLUTION: In the tapered steel tube manufacturing method in which a steel tube is taper-worked by abutting a squeezing roller R of a squeezing device S on a circumferential surface of the steel tube while passing the steel tube through a heating device H and heating the steel tube, a portion of the steel tube immediately after being formed by the squeezing roller R is taper-worked while the portion is cooled.
