PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of an abnormal sound during pressure rise and attain stable pressure control. SOLUTION: A pressure rice cooker comprises a rice cooker body 11 for storing a rice cooking pan 10, a lid body 26 for blockading the opening part of the rice cooking pan 10 openably/closably mounted on the rice cooker body 11, an exhaust passage communicating the inside of the rice cooking pan 10 with the outside disposed in the lid body 26, and a valve body made of an energized member 84 for blockading a vent hole 80 disposed in the exhaust passage by energization, and is equipped with a pressure regulating valve 77 capable of pressurizing the inside of the rice cooking pan 10. A valve packing 90 protruding in a nearly conical shape is arranged at the tip of the energized member 84. Blockage is attained by inserting the valve packing 90 into the inside of the vent hole 80.
