摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic signal processing apparatus and method that perform reproduction without variance in sense of a low-pitched sound obtained by adding harmonics. SOLUTION: A fundamental wave extracting filter 12 extracts a fundamental wave signal from an input acoustic signal inputted to an input terminal 10. A harmonic generating means 13 generates harmonic signals of the extracted fundamental wave signal. The respective generated harmonic signals have gains controlled by a gain control means 14 and are put together. A masking quantity detecting means 15 detects masking quantities by specified bands based upon the composite signal generated by the gain control means 14 and the input acoustic signal. A correcting means 16 sets a correction quantity based upon the detected masking quantities by the specified bands so that a masking phenomenon is suppressed.
