PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a display module having high toughness which is hardly broken even when external force is added. SOLUTION: A left side part of a cover plate 3 is provided with a non-contact part 31a in a protruding convex form so as not to touch a pixel substrate 6 (glass substrate S) corresponding to a region in a left side over the left end 30a of a sealing substrate 23. Further, a right side part of the cover plate 3 is provided with a non-contact part 31b in a convex form protruding in an exiting direction of light so as not to touch the pixel substrate 6 (glass substrate S) corresponding to a region in a right side over the right end 30b of the sealing substrate 23.
