PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absolute angle detection system which can achieve downsizing of a sensor and reduce a detection error when performing absolute angle detection using an irregular cyclic code. SOLUTION: Two magnetic sensors 104a, 104b, which are placed facing each other through a moderate gap with respect to an M-series code disk 102 which rotates accompanied by the rotation of a rotating shaft 103 and to which a ninth-order M-series code is attached, are placed at positions deviated by (256/511)×360°with respect to the rotation phase of the rotating shaft 103. A plurality of magnetoresistive elements contained in the two magnetic sensors 104a, 104b output five bits of information from the M-series code disk 102, respectively. Ten bits of information obtained by combining the five bits of information is compared to ten bits of information stored in a ROM in advance to calculate a one-rotation absolute position.
