PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safe, structurally simple and easily installable joint cover device for a wall, which can absorb the expansion/contraction of a joint by half its width dimension without making a gap in between. SOLUTION: This joint cover device for the wall comprises: two or more expansion links 9, both the ends of which are pivotally supported on the joint-side wall surfaces of right and left buildings 3 via a hinge member; a central joint plate 14 which is pivotally supported on a pivotally supported part in the center of the expansion link in such a manner as to be urged in the direction of the expansion link by using an urging spring 10; right and left fixed joint plates 16, the one-side ends of which are attached to the pivotally supported parts at both the ends of the expansion link or a movable member of the hinge member, and the other-side ends of which abut on a guide part 13 of the central joint plate; and a screen plate 18 which is positioned in such a manner that both ends pivotally supported on parts away from both the ends of the expansion link by a quarter of its length abut on the central joint plate and the backsides of the right and left fixed joint plates.
