A hearing protection unit comprises two sound damping cups (2) for placing around a user's ears. A retainer device (3, 4) positions the cups (2) and applies a compressive force on the cups (2). The retainer device (3, 4) includes a front band (3) which extends between the front edge of each respective cup (2) across the user's forehead, and a rear band (4) which extends between the rear edge of each respective cup (2) around the nape region of the user. |
