The adjusting device comprises two adjusting stops (D)set up corresponding to the ideal spacing of the brake levers (2) at the outer ends of a connecting element which is mounted and locked in a holder connected to the frame or fork (1). The adjusting stops are disposed at an angle of 90 degrees to the connecting element which can be a round bar whose ends are bent round 90 degrees. Marker clips (C) ensure that the starting position of the stops can be reproduced.
