A method in which without the need to install any high-voltage power source and vacuum unit, ozone of high concentration can be generated in air through simple means; and an apparatus therefor. There is provided a method comprising repeating heating/cooling of hemimorphic crystals having the direction of polarization aligned in air to thereby generate an ozone gas of high concentration in the atmosphere around the crystals; and provided an apparatus therefor.
