<p>The invention relates to a steel alloy, especially adapted for manufacturing the railway wheels, comprising from 0.16 up to 0.77% carbon, also comprising manganese, molybdenum, silicon, chromium or nickel. In an embodiment, the steel alloy comprises, in weight percentage, especially: 0.67...0.77% carbon, 0.70...0.85% manganese, 0.65...0.85 silicon, phosphorus less than 0.025, sulphur less than 0.025%, 0.18...0.25% chromium, 0.08...0.12% molybdenum, with a residue consisting mainly of iron. In another embodiment, with a low carbon content, the alloy comprises, in weight percentage, especially: 0.16...0.45% carbon, 0.90...1.10% manganese, 0.50...0.70% silicon, phosphorous less than 0.035%, sulphur less than 0.035%, 1...1.5% nickel, 0.40...0.60% chromium and 0.40...0.60% molybdenum.</p> |
