A lifter of a drum type washing machine is provided to collect foreign materials in the water by installing a filter apparatus in the lifter and to easily clean foreign materials accumulated in the filter apparatus. A lifter of a drum type washing machine comprises a tub containing the water; a drum where a rotary shaft is horizontally installed in the tub; a lifter body(30) installed on an inner wall and formed with plural inlet ports(31); a cover(40) detachably installed and formed with plural discharge ports(41); a filter installed in the discharge port; a filtering frame(60) installed in the discharge outlet to have a constant space for the filter; and a detachable unit(70) installed between the lifter body and the cover. The lifer body is horizontally formed and installed in parallel with the rotary shaft on the inner wall of the drum with a constant space, wherein the lower surface is opened to have plural fixing projections(32) connected to the drum at both lower parts, the upper surface is opened to have a collecting unit(34) where the filtering frame is inserted in the front part, and an inlet(33) is formed with plural inlet ports(31) on both sides of the rear part.
