METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY CONTROLING VOLUME LEVEL FOR CALCULATING MOS

An automatic volume level controlling method for MOS(Mean Opinion Score) measurement is provided to be capable of automatically controlling the level of substantial speech volume to a predetermined optimum level before speech quality is measured, thus reliability of an MOS value is improved. When an audio signal having a predetermined type is received as including a speech signal from an MOS measurement equipment of the other party, the speech signal is compared with a reference volume level by measuring volume level of the speech signal(S10-S20). An intrinsic audio frequency signal predetermined according to information indicative of 'proper', 'too much' or 'insufficient' in accordance with the compared results is transmitted to the MOS measurement equipment of the other party(S22-S32). The MOS measurement equipment decodes the intrinsic audio frequency signal, and controls the volume level(S34-S50).
