A mobile terminal is provided to enable a user to open the menu by additionally installing a module capable of automatically transmitting information on a user through predetermined message authentication for an emergency when a user forgets his/her pre-set password. A memory(14) stores and manages various information related to operation of a terminal under the control of a terminal control module(11). When a lock function releasing password inputted by a user is not identical to a pre-set password in a terminal lock function execution mode, a personal information emergency management module(20) extracts personal information stored in the memory(14) and transmits it to an emergency message account previously set by the user under the control of the terminal control module(11).
