<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meso-porous carbon body capable of efficiently transmitting electric energy by remarkably reducing the surface resistance without lowering the value of physical properties, a method of manufacturing the same, a supported catalyst and a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The meso-porous carbon body has ≤250 mΩ/cm<SP>2</SP>surface resistance measured under 75.4 kgf/cm<SP>2</SP>pressure and 2-20 nm average diameter of meso-pores. The supported catalyst contains the meso-porous carbon body and metallic catalyst particles dispersed to be supported on the meso-porous carbon body. In the fuel cell, at least one of a cathode and an anode contains the supported catalyst. The meso-porous carbon body is capable of efficiently transmitting electric energy by remarkably reducing the surface resistance without sacrifice of other physical properties. Then, the meso-porous carbon body is applied for a conductive material of the fuel cell electrode to manufacture the high efficiency fuel cell electrode and the fuel cell and further utilized as a conductive material for various electrochemical device or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
