PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance of a yarn contacting member useful in a water-jet loom. SOLUTION: The yarn contacting member has a constitution that the peripheral surface of a drive roller 18 is formed by coating the peripheral surface of the base material 180 of the drive roller 18 with a resin coating film 29, the outer peripheral surface of a storage drum 11 is formed by coating the peripheral surface of the base material 110 of the storage drum 11 with a resin coating film 30 and the large-diameter inner peripheral surface 151 and the small-diameter inner peripheral surface 152 of a ring-shaped cover 15 are formed by coating the base material 150 of the ring-shaped cover 15 with resin coating films 31 and 32. The resin coating film 29 comprises a hard fine particle made of titanium oxide, a polytetrafluoroethylene, a binder resin and a coupling agent for assisting the combination of the hard fine particle with the binder resin.
