A fixing for solar module external frame sections (2) in end regions of carriers (1) comprises an open cross-section into which a spreader piece (5) can be inserted that connects with the leg of an L-shaped piece (3) with the other leg gripping over the frame. A clamping is achieved on inserting the spreader thus pressing the frame onto the carrier.
