A security system including a signal transmitter carried by an object, a signal receiver to receive the transmitted signals, a controller for processing received signals and controlling an alarm system in accordance with the received signals is disclosed. Presence of the objects transmitting the signals in a designated area will not activate the alarm of the alarm system, however the controller continues to allow the alarm system to be activated if the alarm system senses objects without signal transmission means in the designated area. The controller also monitors and records the number of times an object with a signal transmitter enters a designated area and monitors the object's movements within the area.
