摘要 A resonant converter for powering the primary conductive path of an Inductively Coupled Power Transfer (ICPT) system includes an input for connection to a direct current supply Ed, a resonant (tank) circuit of capacitor C and inductor L, switching elements S1, S2 to provide current from the input to the resonant circuit, and a second set of switching elements (not shown) associated with a reactive component, such as an inductance Leq, of the resonant circuit. A controller 18 is responsive to a phase indication from a sensing circuit, such as zero crossing detector 16, that senses the phase of the voltage or current in the tank circuit to control the second set of switching elements to connect or disconnect the reactive component to the tank circuit to vary the effective reactance of the reactive component, and thereby vary the resonant frequency of the tank circuit. Thus variations of the resonant frequency due to changes in the load applied across the tank circuit may be compensated to ensure that resonant power transfer to pick-ups of the ICPT system remains efficient.
