A method for offering a joker mode card game service and a recording medium for the same are provided to increase user interest without damaging game balance and prevent collapse of the game balance caused from the joker by restricting usage of the joker, as the joker is used only to form specific ranking. Cards including the preset number of jokers are distributed to all user clients joined in the card game(200). Abandoned card information for abandoning one of the joker or the distributed card is received from the user clients(204). After completion of the card game, a value of the joker is determined with a joker determination algorithm preset to each purpose by using determined joker usage information(210). The ranking of the user clients is calculated by using the determined joker value(212).
