Power source apparatus for wire discharge processing machine comprises: discharge state recognition means; application voltage selection means; and voltage selection means which reverses the polarity of the voltage as the previous induction voltage in the case when the discharge state is abnormal or open, and applies voltage of the same polarity if the discharge is at a normal state. Power source apparatus for wire discharge processing machine which applies pulse voltage between a wire electrode and a processing target to induce discharge thereby processing the target by breaking the insulation, comprises: discharge state recognition means; application voltage selection means; and voltage selection means which reverses the polarity of the voltage as the previous induction voltage in the case when the discharge state is abnormal or open, and applies voltage of the same polarity if the discharge is at a normal state.
