<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine effectively utilizing performance of a supercharger without complicating a structure by using EGR mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: This invented internal combustion engine 1 is provided with EGR mechanisms 24, 25 circulating gas after combustion from an exhaust gas passage 6 to an intake air passage 5, and a supercharger 11 supercharging intake air, and controls an EGR valve 25 of the EGR mechanisms 24, 25 to open to make intake air flow from the intake air passage 5 to the exhaust gas passage 6. Intake air can be bypassed to the exhaust gas passage under a predetermined condition by using the EGR mechanism, and the pressure ratio between an upstream side and a downstream side of the supercharger can be optimized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
