<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the control of parts applicable to a printer, even when machine types of printer body applicable of parts is increased, or even when the types of the parts applicable to the printer body is increased. <P>SOLUTION: Body information for recognizing the body of the printer 101 and part information, showing the applicable parts, are stored in a body memory 203. Part information for recognizing the respective components and main body information, showing the printer body to which the parts are applied applied, are stored in the memory 103A of a toner cartridge 103 and the memory 104A of a photoreceptor drum 104.
