PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display panel restoration method, with which a location to be restored is irradiated with a laser beam having stable energy. SOLUTION: In the image display panel restoration method, whether a defect is being generated in pixels is inspected and, when a defect is being generated in the inspected pixels, the pixel having the defect is restored, by irradiating the part to be restored of the pixel having the defect with a circularly-polarized laser beam from the outside of a first polarizing plate or a second polarizing plate.
