PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal generator capable of conveniently setting an output circuit corresponding to an input circuit of an image display device upon inspection of the image display device. SOLUTION: The video signal generator 10 outputs a video signal via either of LVDS transmitters 15a to 15c for an LCD module 30 which displays an image with the video signal inputted via an LVDS receiver 32. The video signal generator 10 is provided with: the plurality of LVDS transmitters 15a to 15c having different kinds; and an output circuit selection part (manual switches 20a to 20c, a remote controller 17 and a switch controller 16) which selects the LVDS transmitter corresponding to the kind of the LVDS receiver 32 from among the LVDS transmitters 15a to 15c.
