PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring clutch whose clutch spring is prevented from being broken due to fatigue. SOLUTION: The clutch spring 17 is assembled between a pulley 1 and a pulley hub 2 and is brought into elastic contact with a clutch face 16 at the inner periphery of the pulley 1. A protruding part 18 for transmitting torque is provided at a terminal of a coil part 17a at one end of the clutch spring 17. A metallic protruding part 14a opposing to the protruding part 18 for transmitting torque in the peripheral direction is provided on the pulley hub 2. The diameter of the clutch spring 17 is expanded due to contact with the clutch face 16 when the pulley 1 rotates in one direction. The protruding part 18 for transmitting torque is moved outward in the radial direction along a tapered face 19 of the protruding part 14a to bring the outer periphery of the coil part 17a at one end into elastic contact with the clutch face 16 and prevent formation of a bent part in the coil part 17a in order to transmit torque to the protruding part 14a from the protruding part 18 for transmitting torque.
